Susan W. Leach, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a long battle with Huntington’s disease. She was born December 12th, 1959, in Bangor, the daughter of Alton A. and Eleanor F. (MacVane) Williamson.
She graduated high school from Foxcroft Academy and then attended Husson College where she received a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Accounting. She worked at Old Town Canoe for twelve years before she retired to be a stay-at-home Mother. Her children and her grandson were the joys of her life. She was co-leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop for over a decade and was very proud to participate in her Gold Award ceremony. She was always there for her children and would travel anywhere to watch them play in their school activities or sports travel leagues. She was also very active in the First United Methodist Church where she would frequently help in the office, nursery, or Sunday school.
She is survived by her children; her daughter, Jennifer, husband Joshua, and their son, Jackson Williams; her son, Nicholas Leach and his girlfriend, Sophia Starkman; her brother, Glenn and his wife, Doreen Williamson; her sisters; Ann Downs and husband, Daniel, and Lisa Ashford and partner, Craig Stecher. She also leaves behind a special friend from Solstice Senior Living in Bangor, Brian Cassidy. She is predeceased by her parents.
A Service to remember Susan will be held at First United Methodist Church, 703 Essex Street, Bangor, Maine on Friday, June 3rd at 4 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Bangor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Bangor.
