Bangor and Veazie - Susan "Sue" Shaw, 59, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2023, in Auburn, Maine, at the Androscoggin Hospice House of pancreatic cancer. She was born November 4, 1963, in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Bertrand (Buddy) G. and Ellen M. (McKenna) Lane.

Susan grew up in Veazie, Maine, and spent her adult life in Bangor. She graduated from Orono High School in Orono, Maine, in 1982 and Beal College in 2012 with her Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting. She spent the last 10 years working for Penobscot Valley Dermatology as a medical assistant, a job she enjoyed.

She loved gardening, animals, especially her cat, Frankie, and German Shepards, the color fuchsia and her family, especially her daughter, Kristen. A woman with a kind heart, sarcastic spirit, and beautiful inside and out, she loved spending time with her daughter at Red Sox games and concerts.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristen Shaw; mother, Ellen Lane; two brothers, Joseph and Timothy Lane; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Buddy Lane.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, with Pastor David Gardiner officiating. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
