Hampden - Terry Hart, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 30, 2022, at a Bangor Hospital. She was born May 7, 1959 in Hoboken, New Jersey. The daughter of Anna Brown Hart and Vincent Claude Hart. Terry learned her love of family from her mother and her love of photography from her father.
Terry grew up in New Jersey, a child of the Jersey Turnpike, Exit 7A. This was where she learned to be a connoisseur of the cannoli, and really all good pastries. She was proud to be from New Jersey and fondly remembered her childhood and her many memories made with her dearest cousins, who she would visit whenever she could.
Her most profound love was for Dawn LeVasseur, her partner of 25 years, and wife of nine years. She loved Dawn with all her heart through all life’s trials and adventures, and together shared in the love for their beloved dogs, Charlie and Ruby.
Terry was a fiercely loyal friend and defender against all the wrongs in this world. Despite her being ready to police the world since 1959, she also loved this world and all those she touched in it. There were some who Terry had a deep connection with, including her chosen sister, Stephanie M. Hamlin and her dear friends Jane S.E. Clayton and Nancy Y. Harrison.
Terry was a talented massage therapist for over 40 years. Her healing hands assisted so many clients, truly making the difference to physically function in their day to day lives. She was the owner of The Bodyworks Integrated Therapies that focused on muscle energy and craniosacral therapy. She was passionate about her work and honored to be a part of her clients’ healing journeys.
Terry was authentic - you always knew where you stood with her. She cared for people, including her family, her friends and her community. We all felt that Terry was our best friend. That is precious in today’s world. Without her here, the world will be less.
Terry loved her garden and her birds. To watch the hummingbirds at the feeder by the door, leaving food out for the crows, and harvesting her gardens were some of her greatest joys. Today as you are thinking of Terry plant a seed, feed a bird or buy yourself or someone else some flowers to remember her by.
In lieu of flowers Terry would have loved you to make a donation to the Furry Friends Food Bank, care of Eastern Area Agency on Aging, 240 State Street, Brewer ME, 04412 or at EAAA.org, or simply by passing on a kind gesture of paying the grocery bill for someone in need. Terry would be honored that even now, in her memory, she is helping others overcome and thrive.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 8, 2023. Following the service relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
