Theresa M. Oliveira, 64, died unexpectedly June 2nd, 2024 at her home in Hermon, Maine. She was born August 29, 1959, in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Richard W. and Phyllis M. Burgess.

Theresa grew up and went to school in Hermon, Maine. In 1976 she graduated from high school. Following graduation, she enlisted in the National Guard and was stationed in Hawaii. Eventually she returned to Maine and rose to the rank of Master Sergeant in the Maine Air National Guard.

Theresa lived a life filled with adventure. In her youth, she enjoyed horseback riding, a passion that mirrored her free-spirited nature. Traveling the globe and experiencing the rush of riding on the back of a motorcycle with her partner of 22 years,Thomas Michaud added to her adventurous spirit. Yet, amidst her journeys, Theresa's greatest fulfillment came from being a mother and then later a "Mema," a cherished role she embraced wholeheartedly. She opened her home to all, extending her unconditional love to her children's friends as if they were her own. Theresa's legacy is one of boundless love, touching the lives of many with her kindness and open heart.

Theresa is survived by her fiancé, Thomas Michaud of Alton; her children, John Oliveira and his partner, Kerrigan LeBlanc of Bangor and Erica Oliveira of Hermon, along with her three grandsons, Cody Oliveira, Oscar Oliveira and Kanoa Oliveira. She also leaves behind her trusted canine companions; Jake, Royce and Sadie. She was also survived by her brothers, Richard and his wife, Paula (Hopkins) Burgess of Hermon; Larry and his wife, Suzette (Dininno) Burgess of Hermon; Timothy and his wife, Teresa (Dougherty) Burgess of Hermon and sisters, Barbara Kelley of Hermon and Margaret Burgess of Bangor, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by both of her parents.

The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Jeff’s Catering, 15 Littlefield Way, Brewer Maine on Saturday July 13th 2024 from noon to 4:00 P.M. Those who wish to remember Theresa in a special way may make donations in her memory to the Maine Veterans’ Home Bangor, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, Me 04401.
