BANGOR – Thomas W. Larcombe, Sr., 84, died peacefully June 24, 2014, at a local nursing home. He was born November 3, 1929, in Barre, VT, the son of Harold and Gertrude (Jessop) Larcombe.
Thomas graduated from Spaulding High School, Barre, VT, Class of 1948. He graduated from the Salvation Army Training School, commissioned a Lieutenant in the Salvation Army, and he was a lifelong employee of the Salvation Army. Thomas was very proud to be a Band Master in the Salvation Army, and he retired as a Corps Sergeant Major.
Thomas was a very loving, kind, and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. The family wants to thank staff of Ross Manor and EMMC Hospice Care for the wonderful care provided to Thomas.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dot (Sites) Larcombe; five children, Thomas Larcombe Jr., Terry Larcombe, Sharon Hutchinson and her husband, Carl, Judith Hardin and her husband, Eugene, and Daniel Larcombe; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a brother, William Larcombe and his wife, Betty; special sister-in-law, Jacki West; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Timothy Larcombe Sr., and a grandson, Thomas Larcombe III.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2-3 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, June 29th. Interment will be at a later date. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshment at the Salvation Army, 65 S. Park St., Bangor, following the service.
