Thomas E. Pooley, 75, passed away after a long illness, February 7, 2015. He was born April 4, 1939, the son of Harry and Virginia (Schaefer) Pooley.
Thomas graduated from DeVilbiss High School in Toledo and joined the United States Air Force after his graduation. He began his military career as an Aircraft Electrician and worked his way to Advertising/Art Layout Man in Graphic Tech by the time he retired. He served his country for 20 years in the USAF and then served an additional 13 years as Civil Service Navy.
After his retirement, Thomas bought a motor home and travelled with his wife, Pamela, across the United States. Thomas and Pamela were married June 17, 1960 and spent nearly 55 years together. Thomas had a passion for painting and art. His watercolors and acrylics won many awards in different art shows, and many of the paintings can still be seen hanging on the walls of local Bangor businesses.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Pamela (White) Pooley of Levant; his son, Jeffrey Pooley of Levant; his daughter, Karen Pooley of Bangor; grandchildren, Samantha, Breanna, John and Evan; and his brother, Robert Pooley and his wife, Julie of Bolling Green, OH. In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his infant daughter, Deanna Lyn; and his twin brother, James Pooley.
