Bangor - Tom “Tommy” A. Sing Jr., 74, died unexpectedly July 25, 2024, at Northern Light EMMC. He was born February 25, 1950 in Bangor, the son of Thomas Wong Sing and Janet Moy Sing.
Tommy graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1969. Tommy served in the US army in Okinawa during the Vietnam war. He worked at the family restaurant, Sing’s, before and after he served in the army up until it closed in 1998. After that, he moved to Tampa, where he worked as a chef at Busch Gardens until he retired.
He was the first honorary member of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and remained a member of the club for 50 years. He was a member of the Maine I and Florida XVII chapters. Tommy loved his family, cooking, bartending and making people laugh and smile. He also had a lifelong love of cars and riding his motorcycle with his Blue Knights family, particularly his Florida family, Gary Johnson and Tim Roth.
Surviving Tommy are his children, Shelby Wong-Sing, Amanda Ouellette-Clark and her husband, Richard, Brian Sing and his wife , Laura, and Tyler Sing and his wife, Alexa; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Sing and Arthur Sing; one sister, Amy Sing-Prusaitis and her husband, Tom; many nieces and nephews. Tommy was predeceased by his parents.
Relatives and friends are welcome to gather for a celebration of life from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Jeff’s Catering & Event Center, 15 Event Center Way, Brewer ME 04412.
