Bangor, ME and Plant City, FL - Timothy James Bogan Sr., 65, unexpectedly passed away at his home in Plant City on May 14, 2015. He was born in Bangor on June 14, 1949, the first of six children for James A. and Marie A. (Davenport) Bogan Sr. Tim was an Armed Forces Veteran, having served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and the Maine Air National Guard during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He retired from MeANG in 2009 and soon moved to Florida where he enjoyed an almost daily game of golf with his many friends. He was well known in the local area as the “Rug Rat” of Rug Rat Carpeting before he became full time in the MeANG. For many years he enjoyed participating in many area softball and bowling leagues until the day he found his love for golf. Over the years he enjoyed his collections of sports team baseball hats, Larry Bird memorabilia, trophies, golf balls and clubs and shark/Greg Norman items. He loved his New England teams, the Red Sox, the Patriots and especially the Boston Celtics. Surviving him are his three sons and their wives, Tim Jr and Suna of Oklahoma, Tony and Aimee of Eddington, and Terry and Ashlee of Bangor, and their mother former wife Rita; his daughters Lacey Bailey of Bangor, and Becca of Virginia Beach, and their mother former wife Janet; grand-children Cody, Mindy, Bryanna, Harmony, Kassidy, Ryker, and TJ; his siblings Kathy and Arnold Westman, Mike and Connie Bogan, John and Elaine Bogan, and Lori and Matt Platte; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and a very special friend Kim Kryszczak of Florida. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, James A Bogan Jr. A celebration of his life will be held at The Family Reception Center of Brookings Smith, 163 Center St. in Bangor on Saturday June 13, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with Military Honors performed at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MAINEiacs charities at 103 Marran St. Suite 518 Bangor, Me 04401.
