Todd Cocklin

November 19, 1954 — January 13, 2016

Todd R. Cocklin, a loving father, devoted husband, son and brother, died January 13, 2016 after fighting a courageous three-year battle with an illness. He was 61.
Born, November 19, 1954, into a large family in Massillon, Ohio, Todd graduated from Massillon Washington High School in 1973 and afterward briefly attended Ohio State University. In 1978, he married Amy Welsh, whom he’d known since childhood.
Three years later, they moved to Maine and later made a home in Orrington, where Todd lived for 34 years. He was a successful master plumber, who for a time owned his own business, and eventually went on to work as a project manager for some of the region’s largest mechanical contractors.
Todd was a golfer, who also enjoyed hockey, football, the outdoors and animals. From 1971-1973, he played as a center for the Massillon Tigers football team and was part of the 1972 Associated Press/United Press state championship team.
Todd’s humor, independence and care for his family were noted by all that knew him.
He was predeceased by his mother, Jacqueline Cocklin, and his father, Roland Cocklin. In addition to his wife, Amy (Welsh) Cocklin, he is survived by his daughter, Stevie Cocklin of Orrington, and his son, Jamison Cocklin of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his two brothers; his sister and many nephews and nieces.
