Levant - Troy Allan Hornyak, 51, died unexpectedly on September 21, 2021, in Bangor. He was born July 2, 1970, the son of Joseph R. Hornyak and Carol S. Hodge.
Troy graduated from Hermon High School, Class of 1989. He served 4 years in the United States Army. He married Paula Plourde on September 20, 2003.
He was a lover of fishing and hunting. Troy was a chef in the Army and used all his skills for fabulous meals at family gatherings.
He worked for Campbell Construction Company, City of Bangor, and then the Bangor Water District for over 20 years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Paula (Plourde) Hornyak, are his sons, Kyle and Cameron, and his daughter, Kayla; his parents, Joseph Hornyak and stepmom, Betsy Hornyak, and his mom, Carol Hodge; 5 sisters, 2 step-sisters, 1 brother and 1 step-brother, 1 grandson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Troy was loved by so many and had an infectious smile and could make anybody laugh with all of his own quirky sayings.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor.
Interment will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Waugh Cemetery, Union Street, Levant.
