Hampden - Tyler D. Wheaton, 23, died unexpectedly November 18, 2021. He was born October 20, 1998 in Bangor, the son of Michael P. and Sharon A. (Bona) Wheaton.
Tyler grew up in Hampden, where he attended and graduated high school. He attended Maine Maritime Academy before transitioning into a career in welding. If you saw Ty, he was likely with his best friend, Christian Broberg. The two enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and dirt biking. He loved spending time at his home away from home, the Wade Compound, with his close-knit group of friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his GSP Hank; sister, Michaela Wheaton and her boyfriend, Ethan Demmons; brother, David Wheaton and his wife, Amber and their son, Parker; maternal grandmother, Theresa Bona; aunts and uncles, Annette and Steve Waceken, and Cheryl and Michael Collinsworth; close cousins, Jonathan and Tyson Campbell, Jessica and Oakley Farnham and family, Colby Waceken, Calli Waceken, Amy Collinsworth, Aaron Collinsworth, Angel and Wayne Cote; his girlfriend, Miranda Fish.
He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Perley and Shirley Wheaton, and maternal grandfather, Richard Bona.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 5-7 p.m. Friday November 26, 2021 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 27, 2021 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthews Catholic Church, 70 Western Ave., Hampden.
