Victor L. “Whitey” Maurizzio, 70, passed away at a Bangor hospital with his family and friends by his side on January 11, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 6, 1944, in Middletown, NY, the son of Vito and Harriet (Lockwood) Maurizzio.
Whitey served his country in the U. S. Air Force for 23 years, during the Vietnam Conflict, and retired in 1984. He was very dedicated to Speedway 95 as a security guard . Whitey was a member of the Brewer Eagles Club. He enjoyed his many wood working projects.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Betty (Gray) Maurizzio; three sons, Victor Maurizzio of Roseville, CA, Chris Maurizzio of Citrus Heights, CA, Justin Maurizzio of Dedham; three sisters, Linda Lercara of New York, Barbara Zeiders and huband Ron of PA, Mary Lou Lewis and husband Nile of PA; four grandchildren, Steven, Vito, Gianna, and Triaton; many nieces, nephews, family, and close friends. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Michael Maurizzio, and a son, Mathew Maurizzio.
