BREWER- Gini Marquis passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with family by her side on January 1, 2023, at the age of 68.
Gini was born on December 29, 1954, the daughter of the late Vincenzo Catalfamo and JoAnn (Quimby) Cooper. She was a graduate of Bangor High, Class of 1973.
Gini is survived by her adoring husband and love of her life for 32 years, Brian Marquis; her two children, son, Vaughn Schafer and wife, Julie; daughter, Summer (Schafer) Williams and husband, JD; only grandson, Cameron Schafer, all of whom Gini cherished and was extremely proud. Gini was the first born to her surviving siblings, Sherry Senter, Laurie Gauthier, the three were known as “The Catalfamo Sisters” and two half siblings, Jamey Cooper and his wife, Andrea, and Diana Cooper. She had several nieces and nephews.
Gini was an amazing, passionate woman with a giving heart. She had a vivacious personality and a beautiful voice which made her unforgettable. Gini loved to sing and could pick up any instrument and learn to play it in a heartbeat. Gini loved to dance and did the best jitterbug in town.
Gini had a beautiful and fun presence, full of compassion, wisdom, wit and many funny stories. There was never a dull moment when around Gini, which people loved about her, especially her loving husband.
Gini touched the lives of so many who were lucky enough to know her. She will forever be loved and extremely missed. We will one day meet her again “Somewhere over the Rainbow.”
Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering to celebrate Gini’s life Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 3 to 5pm at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor.
