Walter Bolster

Walter L. Bolster, 97, died October 4, 2013, at a local nursing home. He was born September 14, 1916, in Halifax, N.B., Canada, the son of Rev. George F. and Amy D. (Parlee) Bolster. Walter graduated from Brewer High School. He was a life member of I.O.O.F., past Noble Grand I.O.O.F., and former assistant Boy’s Work Secretary Bangor YMCA. Walter held several offices at Essex Street Baptist Church, Bangor, Church President, Board of Deacons, Sunday School Teacher, and member of the choir. He was also Past President American Baptist Men of Maine. Walter was employed by R. B. Dunning Co. before retiring. Walter is survived by three nieces, Debbie Thompson, of Carmel, Becky Saunders, of Ohio, and Cherrie Watson, of Brewer; and several grand nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Bolster and Gordon Bolster. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
