HAMPDEN AND BANGOR - Walter K. Cupples Jr. passed away September 30, 2020, at Winterberry Heights Assisted Living Center in Bangor. He was born April 5, 1946, the son of the late Walter K. Cupples, Sr. and the late Ann Carlin Cupples. He was also predeceased by his brother, Edward Cupples all from Warren, Ohio.
Walt graduated from St. Mary's High School, Warren, Ohio in 1964. He was president of his Senior Class. He was also President of the Student Council. In 1968 Walt graduated from the Athenaeum of Ohio in Cincinnati, Ohio with a degree in Philosophy and Latin.
Walt worked for Packard Electric in Warren where he was given a job that became his life's work. Organization Development. From Packard Electric to Exxon, then Walt worked for several consulting firms, finally starting his own successful consulting firm.
Walt was active in his community, his church, and was on the Board of Directors for the Bangor Area Homeless shelter for many years.
Memories will be remembered by his wife, Deb Phillips-Cupples of Hampden, ME; sister, Nancy of Denver CO; brother, Bill and Margo Cupples of Warren, OH; sons, KC Hattman, of GA, Curtis Cupples, of; FL daughter; Kelly, Chris Cupples; granddaughters, Tanajah, of DE and Garrett Hattman; grandson, Jonas Hattman; many cousins, nieces, and nephews on both sides of the family.
A Memorial service will be held at Hammond Street Congregational Church after the pandemic is over, followed by an Irish Wake to continue to celebrate the life of a wonderful man.
