Walter E. Littlefield, 81, of Levant, Maine, passed away in his home on the morning of January 7, 2023. He was born on March 24, 1941, in Bangor, Maine to parents Harold and Irene (Overlock) Littlefield.

Walt graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1959, and from there enlisted in the United States Air Force for four years of active duty service, before continuing on to proudly serve his country for 37 years in the 101st Refueling Wing of the Maine Air National Guard. Walt retired from the Maine Air National Guard with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. In his retirement, Walt was a founder of the Maine Air Guards Retirees Association and its first President. He also was a founder of the Levant Heritage Library.

Walter married Elaine (Seavey) Littlefield in 1964 and together they moved to Holden, Maine, where they raised two daughters, Kris Ann and Diana, and remained there for 21 years before settling in Levant. Walt was an avid lover of the New England Patriots and spent much of his leisure time playing golf with his friends Rick, Dennis and Ken, supporting and attending his grandchildren's sporting events, reading, doing puzzles, and crosswords and enjoyed spending time in the Maine outdoors hunting and ice fishing.

Walt is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elaine of Levant; sister, Louise and husband Harry Leavitt of Palmyra; daughters, Kris Ann and husband, Rick Jordan of Orrington, and Diana Durgin and partner, Kevin Adam, of Exeter; grandchildren, Katherine and husband, Paul Verville, of Ellsworth, Laura Jordan and fiance, Michael Maloney, of Salem, Massachusetts, and Nicholas Jordan of Garland; great-grandsons, Gwilym and Nash Verville; brothers-in-law, Dennis Seavey of Newport, and Michael Seavey of Plymouth; special neighbors, Terry and Lisa Cronkhite; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
