EDDINGTON - Walter Harvey Morang Jr., 82, passed away December 12, 2021, at his home with his loving family by his side after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on October 23, 1939, in Ellsworth, the son of Walter H. Morang Sr. and Sarah A. (Frost) Morang.
Walter served his country for 20 years in the U. S. Navy as a Naval Electrician serving on board 5 different ships. He worked for a stint at Bob’s Hardware and Walmart. He then retired from Uniship as a courier after working there for 15 years. Walter was a member of the American Legion, Post # 200, in Hermon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lydia (Carter) Morang; a daughter, Carole Blakeman; a granddaughter, Danielle Blakeman, all of Eddington; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Walter H. Morang III and Stephen M. Morang; a grandson, James “JD” Blakeman; a brother, Donald Clark Sr.; and a nephew, Donald Clark Jr.
Friends may call from 2-4 PM, Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hermon.
