Walter “Pete” Shaw

Walter “Pete” Shaw, 84, passed away February 22, 2019. He was born in Bangor, October 23, 1934, son of Frank and Dorothy (Dunham) Shaw.
Pete served his country in the US Marines during the Korean War as a decorated communications officer. After his honorable discharge he became employed with New England Telephone Company until his retirement.
He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Christine E. Shaw.
Surviving are four children, Richard Allen Shaw and his wife Jennifer, Cindy Marie McAvoy and her husband John, Daniel Frank Shaw, and James Walter Shaw and his wife Judy; his very special companion Barb Boulier; nine grandchildren Taylor Marie Long, Gabriel Shaw, Garrett Shaw, Ursula Elizabeth Shaw, Olivia Nicole Shaw, James Warren Shaw, Kasey Lauren Leach, Jessica Anne Leach, and Brian Jennings Leach, three great grandchildren, Jack Robert Leach, Annabeth Eva Leach, and Adelyn Rose Hayes; sisters-in-law Marie Dyer, Geraldine Kitchen, and Eleanor Peavey Durgin.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, 828 Western Ave. Hampden at a time to be announced this summer.
