Wayne I. Giffard, 85, passed away peacefully August 11, 2023, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor. He was born to George Giffard and Virginia (Holyoke) Giffard Winchester on February 16, 1938.
Wayne graduated from Brewer High School and served in the U. S. Army. After the Army, he owned and operated C. S. Winchester, Inc. in Brewer until his retirement. He was a member and Past Master of the Ralph J. Pollard Lodge #217 Orrington and a member of the Anah Temple Shrine and played the drums in the Highlanders section for many wonderful years.
Surviving is his wife, Helen; his daughters, Lynn (Sam) Yoder of Brewer, Darlene Black of Bangor; his stepchildren, Sheldon Runar of Brewer and Sonja Runar of Oregon. He was a grandfather of five, great grandfather of nine and great, great grandfather of two; many nieces and nephews and cousins that meant so much to him. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his stepfather, Clarence Winchester, brother, Richard Giffard; sister, Kathleen (Winchester) Doyer and son Robert Giffard.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join us for a graveside service on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Brewer.
