William L. Davis Jr.
Corinth and Bangor – William L. Davis Jr., 90, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born August 9, 1928 in Bangor, the son of William and Bessie (Baker) Davis.
William served four years in the United States Navy. He went on to work in the U.S Postal Service, retiring in 1986. He was a lifelong member and past officer of the Bangor Elks Lodge #244.
He had a fulfilling life of camping, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, and, up until last year, four wheeling.
In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by his grandson, Jack McKay III; two sisters, Joan Brooks, and Beverly White.
William is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jeanne; two daughters, Susan Varney and her husband, Brian, of Etna, Cindy McKay and her husband, Jack, of Etna; sister, Ramona Pelletier, of Kenduskeag; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private for family in the spring.
