William “Bill” E. Gardner, 74, passed away at home October 2, 2016 following a battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born May 21, 1942 in Bangor the son of the late Edward and Alice (Dunton) Gardner.
Bill was a long haul truck driver for 42 years. He was a member and Past Master of the Benevolent Lodge #87 A. F. & A. M. of Carmel.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Justine (Knowles) Gardner of Carmel; four sons, Lucas Gardner and wife Angel of Presque Isle, Dale Moore and wife Julie of Lisbon Falls, Jeffery Moore and wife Madonna Moore of Carmel, Keith Moore and wife Tammi of Hermon; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, James Gardner and wife Martha of Carmel; two sisters, Mary Hafford of Allagash, Pamela Minghi and husband John of Carmel, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson Ryan Moore and a brother-in-law, Wilmer “Wim” Hafford.
