BANGOR – William C. Thornton, 60, passed away Monday June 30, 2014 at a local hospital. He was born May 19, 1954, in Calais, the son of William C. and Wilhelmina (Thornton) Moore. William enjoyed traveling, vacations with grandchildren, cooking, horseback riding and was a lifelong learner. He had a true passion for his career as a registered nurse and he was well respected among his colleagues. He is survived by a son Ian Thornton and his wife Marie of Enfield, grandchildren, Cameron Trent, Kainan Troy, Isabelle Helen Susan, Issiah Trent, and Karter Marie Thornton, as well as several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. He will also be remembered by a special friend Steven L’Italien of Bangor. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Helen S. (Cline) Thornton. Friends may call 5-7 PM Thursday July 3, 2014 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith 55 South Main St. Brewer. A graveside service will be conducted 1 PM Eastern Standard Time or 2 PM Atlantic Time Sunday July 6, 2014 at Fair Haven Cemetery, Deer Island N.B. Canada, with the Rev. Geoffrey Conley officiating.
