MILFORD & GREENBUSH – Woodbury “Woody” S. Sibley, 78, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2019 at a Bangor Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Old Town on April 9, 1941, the son of Benjamin and Gertrude (Pond) Sibley.
He graduated from Old Town High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Woody retired from Lane Construction. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was known for his colorful hunting spots. Woody loved the Red Sox and watching the high school basketball tournaments. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, family, and beloved cat, Buffy.
In addition to his parents and five siblings, Woody was predeceased by his daughter, Cheryl Coulombe; and son-in-law, Dwayne Madden. Woody is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Beverly; daughters, Cindy Madden, Brenda Wickett, Kathy Emerson and husband, Dan, Belinda Doucette and husband, Cliff, Michele Doucette and husband, Jamie; sons, Robert Coulombe, Jr., Richard Coulombe and wife, Cathy, Timothy Coulombe and wife, Syl, Gary Coulombe and husband, Allen Severance, and long-time friend/adopted son, Jay LeBreton and wife, Cathy; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held 11 am, Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Riverside Cemetery, Orono with the Dr. Steve Smith, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Bangor, officiating.
