Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of William Zoidis can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Ellen Borodko Bozeman
Condolence: I am sorry to read of Bill's passing. In the early seventies I was one of the lucky people to have been trained and mentored by the Zoidis family at Pilot's Grill. I worked in a few famous places after that, even the Hotel del Corodonado. Though good, none could match up to the family atmosphere, excellent training and team approach of Pilot's Grill. The last time I spoke with Bill was on the very last day the restaurant was open. He was gracious, as always; and remembered with me other staff from that earlier time period. May all of the family have great comfort in knowing what a good man he was.

Condolence: We will always miss you Tata.

A spark went out in this world tonight,
a life so radiant, wonderful and bright,
We will miss you always forever in our heart,
but will never forget the memories you impart.

There with Sally you will finally be,
Soul mates in heaven so happy and free,
So God if this is your purpose, your plan, your will,
Please take good care of our amazing Bill.

Condolence: It has been such a privilege to know and work for your family. My 16 years at Pilot's were the best years ever!!! What a sense of belonging and the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, the Zoidis family and the Grill's customers. Thanks for the memories, of which there are so many. Bill and Sally will be greatly missed, just as the Grill has been missed. One and only, Bill, Sally and Pilot's Grill, the best. Love to you all.

Condolence: Paulette,Chris & Lindsley,

So sorry for your loss. You're all in our thoughts.

Such wonderful memories of Ernie,Dot,Bill,Sally,Andy and you guys a busboy-girls!
There will never be another Pilot's Grill, your family built a wonderful legacy.

Bill & Sally were my clients, and when I was going though a hard time I meantioned I needed to find a part-time job. "Come on out darling, I'll put you to work" was what Bill said. So after waitressing 18 yrs ago he gave me a job...again!

Honesty, hard work, and throw in some fun made it a pleasure to work and know your parents.

Know that that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many who care.

Condolence: Chris, Lindsley and Paulette;

Your amazing mom and dad left a legacy few can aspire to match. Maine hospitality has lost a legend.

Bill and Sally were a force to reckon with! Always upbeat, positive and so pleased to see you, whoever you were!

Hospitality was their life. Bill, Sally, Barbara and I spent many times together in Washington and Bangor in the hospitality arena. They loved every minute of the hospitality experience, far more than anyone I have ever met.

The Maine Restaurant Association Lifetime Achievement Award was named for Bill to honor his exemplary career in our industry, his service on our Board of Directors and on the Board of the National Association. Bill's dad and uncle were founding members of the Maine Restaurant Association. The Zoidis name is indelibly etched in Maine Hospitality.

Bill was an intelligent, resourceful, kind, loving, and giving human being. I treasured his counsel and his friendship and I shall miss him greatly.

Condolence: When we moved on Maple Street in Bangor in 1972, we moved next to Bill's mom. We could not have asked for a better neighbor and friend in Nana Dot and thru her and her grand children, we met Bill and Sally, two of the most wonderful generous fun loving people, they always helped us with our family gatherings and celebrations. Our family is blessed to have known them and we are so thankful to have had them in our lives. Our most heartfelt sympathy goes out to Bill's family, his wonderful children Paulette, Lindsey, Christopher and their families. We will miss him terribly, he was the most upbeat and wonderful person, words cannot express how much we we will miss him. Our lover and prayers, to the family. He is now with Sally and together they will watch the family grow. Big Hugs to all of you. He told us, very very recently, "He had no regrets!" Love you Bill, and will miss you!
