Condolence From: Jane Miller
Condolence: Barb, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I remember the delicious apples and apple pies, made from Don's apple trees, that you would bring to school. Also, during many of our conversations, how fondly you would speak of Don and I felt as though I knew him. You have many wonderful memories of him and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
With Love to You,
Jane Miller

Condolence: Dear Barb and Family -
I was saddened to hear of Don's passing. I have worked with him on apple tastings, identification and public events around heirlooms, and his quiet enthusiasm was an inspiration to me as I slowly became obsessed with the old apple varieties. He helped me down here in Ellsworth several times with the Downeast Heirloom Apple Day, and I will be eternally grateful for his willingness to lend a hand to help inspire more folks. I will plant an apple tree in his memory this spring.

Condolence: We express our sincere condolences to Barb and the entire family. Don was a great colleague and friend. I so enjoyed the years we spent teaching science together at Bangor High School. He cared very deeply about his students and worked hard to facilitate their successes. It was always so enjoyable to talk about gardening, fruit tree propagation and fishing with Don. I hope that you and the family can take solace in knowing that Don touched the lives of so many young people and that he will fondly remembered and missed by all who have had the pleasure to know him.
