Gary W. Ellingwood, 62, passed away unexpectedly November 17, 2016. He was born March 28, 1954, in Bangor, the son of Roger L. and Myrtle (Young) Ellingwood.
Gary served in the United States Navy. He was a master electrician and worked from the Virginian Pilot Ledges Star in Norfolk, VA. Returning to Maine, Gary worked at NH Bragg for many years, and studied accounting at Husson University. He enjoyed cooking as a hobby, but his true passion was playing golf at the Hampden Country Club where he was a member.In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by his two brothers, Randall and Thomas Ellingwood. He is survived by his niece, Amanda Meek and her husband, Adam, of Hampden; nephew, Tyler Ellingwood of Bangor; his girlfriend, Peggy Pearson; extended family and friends.Relatives and friends are invited to call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
